Geordie Thompson

As therapists, it is important to have a good range of techniques to hand that we can insert easily into any therapy session. The Rewind Technique is one that is simple and effective and can be easily looped into a larger session or be a session in itself. I find the Rewind Technique a valuable addition to my toolkit and one that enable the client to remain in a very calm state throughout.

I had great results with a client who was recovering from a bad motorcycle accident and still had chronic pain in his upper back. I noticed a movement habit that he had every time he stood up, he would arch his back and you could see on his face he was checking to see if the pain was still there. We generated an alternative physical pattern which helped but it wasn’t until we did the Rewind Technique that he finally was able to stop checking back and move forward without pain.
